COVID-19 Policy

Due to the unknown nature of the Covid-19 pandemic, in some cases we will not be able to ship next day and will ship as soon as possible. These cases include but are not limited to shipping locations closed, shipping partner not able to guarantee over-night priority shipping. Any delays caused by the carrier due to them being backed-up or short staffed due to the pandemic will not be covered. There will be no returns or refunds on all orders. ALL SALES ARE FINAL. Please refer to our DOA policy below for all DOA issues.

 

Shipping Policy

We DO NOT offer free shipping, customers are responsible for their own shipping fees and payments due at the time of the sale.

Shipping rates are priced by weight and size of the box. Orders will be given a discounted shipping rate.

Small and regular sized packages will be sent via FedEx/UPS over-night priority shipping for next day delivery.

Very large packages will be sent out via Southwest Cargo for same day delivery within hours. A $35 fee to bring your box to the second nearest airport will also be needed to be paid before package leaves our store, which is to pay our driver for the trip to the airport which accepts Southwest Cargo drop-offs. NOTE: Customer is responsible for Southwest Cargo shipping and handling fees due at the time of pick-up at their local airport.

If you’re local, ask us about our personal local delivery service and rates for pre-arranged front door delivery.

Free local pick-up is available.

We do not ship to Alaska, Hawaii, or Puerto Rico.

Weather permitting, most packages will be sent out for over-night next day delivery.

In events of extreme weather, we reserve the right to delay shipping until weather permits.

 

Returns Policy

Reef Geeks of Chicago does not accept returns on any livestock. All sales are final. There will be no refunds or returns for any livestock.

 

DOA Policy

Someone must be there to accept package on the FIRST attempt.

An “adult signature” is required to receive your package from the delivery driver.

If nobody answers the door to receive package on the first attempt and is “LEFT AT DOOR” or “REDIRECTED TO A NEARBY FEDEX/UPS LOCATION” we are NOT responsible.

Also, if you request for your package to be held at a local FedEx/UPS location, package must be picked up before 10:30am buyer’s time. If picked up any time after pick-up time, we are not responsible for any DOA (death on arrival).

If customer chooses to use their own shipping label/ shipping method, we will not refund the costs of any DOA due to any circumstance. No store credits or replacements will be given if customer chooses their own shipping method.

If coral is DOA and arrives on time, we will need a picture of deceased coral in bag at time of opening. If coral is DOA, must send picture of coral within minutes of receiving in actual packaging. We will only offer store credit, no refunds. NOTE: Shipping fee does not count towards store credits.

If coral is DOA due to mishandling/damage of package, delays on package due to carrier, and any other incidents that have to do with FedEx/UPS, we are not responsible and cannot issue a refund or store credit on product.

If package is not collected at time of delivery, any DOA will not be credited for store credit or refunded.

We guarantee your livestock will be professionally packaged. Reef Geeks of Chicago is not responsible for any DOA caused by package carrier anytime in transit. Every customer will receive our company’s policy before shipment is processed and every package will have our company policy in their box as well.
